What’s Inside the Volleyball Player Journal
This journal gives players a structured, season-long system for improving their skills, mindset, and habits—on and off the court. It blends goal-setting, reflection, visualization, and performance tracking into one easy-to-use tool created specifically for young volleyball athletes. Here’s what’s inside the journal:
Getting Started: Foundations for Growth
- Intro to Journaling: A simple, player-friendly introduction that explains how mental training, reflection, and daily intention-setting can elevate performance. Helps athletes understand why the journal matters.
- Personal Mission Statement: Players craft a short statement that anchors their values, purpose, and long-term goals. Built-in check-ins throughout the season prompt them to revisit it and reflect on how they’re living it out.
- Goal Garden & Goal Setting: Players gather “seeds” for growth, turn them into clear goals, and break those goals into actionable daily steps.
- My Goals: Dedicated space for both individual and team goals to build accountability throughout the season.
- Visualization: A full guide to effective visualization, complete with example scripts and a QR-linked video from coach Deborah Newkirk to help players take their practice deeper.
